hey! wow...how long has it been since anyone posted?!?? sadly i think candace has forgotten the password. perhaps that'll explain her absence. but that's ok. i still have my posts. tho the intervals between them seem to be lengthening....haha.

In Sunday school recently, we talked about Revelations and the end of the world. I was so confused. :P so I used an analogy, God's plan is almost like a bus stop. You're probably going...WHAT?!?!? But yes. Ok. SO, let me give you the general idea. HEY! This is interesting ok?!? Revelations is God's way of preparing you for what is to come!

"But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him." 1Corinthians 15: 22-23

Are you as confused as I was? Ok, think of it this way, all those who died before Christ are the firstborns, they never saw Christ's resurrection, therefore, didn't see the fulfillment of God's plan. Now, when Jesus came to earth the first time and rose from the dead, He took with Him all the firstborn in Hades. NO, Hades is NOT hell. Hades is kind of like the bus stop. I'll explain later... When Jesus comes again, He takes the people in Hades that died after He returned to heaven and "those who belong to him" meaning the believers. All those left behind, the unbelievers, are to go through seven years of suffering. In those seven years, only 144 thousand will believe and be saved. Then it is one thousand years of peace and after that, Satan is thrown into the lake of fire.

Do you kinda see the bus stop I'm talking about? No? Let me explain. Like I said Hades is like the bus stop. The bus only comes twice....Jesus Christ. First time the bus comes around, it takes all those at the bus stop. Second time it comes around, it takes all the people in the bus stop and some other people with the ticket to get on, salvation. Those people left behind are ones that refused to take a ticket or sadly thought they had a ticket. Do you get it now?!?

That is why it is so important to spread the gospel, because the end really IS near. I can't help walking around campus and looking at all the faces thinking, "How many of these faces I see everyday am I going to see in heaven?" question is. . .

HOW MANY OF THE FACES YOU SEE EVERYDAY DO YOU WANT TO SEE IN HEAVEN? I really hope people answer: every single one of them. Because no matter how much of a jerk people can be, they are still God's children. Who is perfect? Who has never sinned or has been a jerk to someone?

DO YOU WANT TO BE THE ONE WITH THE TICKET AND BE PICKED UP BY THE BUS, THE ONE WHO THINKS THEY HAVE A TICKET, OR THE ONE WHO REFUSES TO GET ON? In other words, do you want to be left behind? Don't think you have salvation. Don't think you believe. KNOW you believe. How hard can it be? All God requires is that you believe you aren't perfect and that Christ died to save you. But it didn't just end there. Death has always been the greatest defeat for humans, or so they thought. But God defeated death by raising Jesus from the dead. That's all you have to believe. Christ died to save you from sin and rose again therefore. . .

"For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." 1Corinthians 15:22

Believe. It's all you need to buy that ticket and get on that bus to heaven. Don't be left behind. You might not be one of those 144000 who will be saved.

wow. ok. i'm done. i might post again depending on my free time.

edit~ OMG so so so sorry! i totally forgot to mention that yes, it is by grace we have been saved. the only way to heaven IS to believe. wait, i did mention it didn't i?!?! yes, secon to the last paragraph!. anyway. let me clarify. you have to believe to go to heaven. you have to believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, when we were completely undeserving and saved us from being cast into hell.

ok... i know we haven't posted in ages but lol.. well, to reply on the comment someone left about being proud to be asian.

#1. I am proud to be asian VERY PROUD. not meaning i'm racist. but i just am happy being what i am. ok?

#2. Jesus wasn't white. he was indeed JEWISH. he spoke hebrew. SO, actually caucasians(am i spelling that right?) were converted too.

#3. Many many caucasians aren't christians.

#4. I agree, asians are wonderful people, hence my pride. But, i'm also proud to be christian. They are also wonderful people, they are people of God.

#5. i think, however, that you(person who commented) are being rather racial in saying Asians should be buddhist. I dare not say that all humans SHOULD be christian(that is, believing in the Almighty and Living GOD) though i think so.

#6. I, as a christian, when i am witnessing to someone, i can't force them to believe. i can only pray that God will shine His light on them. So, there is NO brainwashing. i mean, for example: if i tell you to believe and threaten to kill you if you don't, besides the fact that it's not very godly, it probably won't work. You won't really believe just because i threaten you. right?

ok. don't with my weird reasons, call me shallow and stubborn, but i don't think that if i'm asian, i can't be anything other than an asian belief. Anyway, there are many asians that are christian. well, hope your happy with my explanation.

“How many times have you heard someone say, “I could never forgive him for (list offense here)”? Forgiving others is not easy to do, especially if the other person hasn’t asked for forgiveness. But God’s Word is clear: We are to forgive others just as He has forgiven us. Wow- too hard, you say? Sure it is, humanly speaking. but God also gives us the ability through His Spirit. Be sure to confess your sins to Him and ask Him to forgive you. Then ask forgiveness of others whom you may have offended. Being faithful in these areas will make it easier for you to forgive others.”

- from Light for My Path for Teens

As we all know, anytime someone does something mean or offensive to us, our first instinct is to get back at that person, or plot our revenge. A common phrase would be “I can never forgive them for what they did” But as hard as it is, we should forgive others no matter what they do, I mean, hasn’t God forgiven us even when we committed the worst sins?

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” Eph. 4:32 KJV

One story in the scriptures that illustrates this is the story of Joseph from Gen 37 to Gen. 49 and I will just go briefly over..

Joseph had a family with 11 brothers where he was his parents’ most favorite, causing his brothers to dislike him.So one day Joseph’s brothers threw him in a pit, and sold him to an Egyptian. Afterwards they gave their father Joseph’s coat after tearing it up and putting goat’s blood on it, making their father believe Joseph was dead. Then many years later... Joseph becomes the governor of Egypt
and one day, his brothers came back but they did not recognize him. Joseph decided to test to see if they’ve changed since they sent him off to his misfortune

“And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. ... And he fell upon his brother Benjamin’s neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.” Gen. 45: 4-5, 14 KJV

As you can see, even when his brothers did horrible things to him, Joseph still forgave them, and didn’t yell at them or did anything vengeful. So we should use this example, and try hard to be as forgiving as Joseph was.

“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.” Mark 11:25 NLT

“Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how man times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times” Matt. 18:21-22 NIV

And so that common phrase goes, "forgive and forget" ...... or at least i think its common.. ah i dont know. Anyways, have a wonderful day!

hey hey it's flo. yes i know i haven't posted in quite a while and YES i deleted the chatter box. i kno. *sob* but it's ok! we can still keep in touch with comments. So if you have questions, comments or prayer requests, post a comment.. okie dokie? well, onto the lesson then...yes, and i'm still on the whole "GOD" series. if your bored. look forward to kari's monthly posts and candi's semi anual posts..*sigh*  i have a feeling candi's semi anual posts are turning into anual posts. but anyway....

i do believe we are down to God's Greatness.....hmm. lemme check..YUP!

GOD'S GREATNESS

so...i seriously haven't got much to say about this. NOT THAT GOD IS NOT GREAT! it's just that He is SO great that..well i don't know how to start. Let's keep it simple shall we? ahem. God is in charge and will triumph over evil in the end. period. end of story. well, what did i tell you? do i really have to say much on this topic. Everyone has experienced God's greatness sometime in their life. if they are aware of it or not. so....i shall not ramble on if everyone knows that God is GREAT! however i do have a hym that i actually really like and it clearly displays God's greatness...

How Great Thou Art. (how original. lol)

Oh Lord, my God,

When i in awesome wonder,

consider all the works Thy hand hath made.

I see the stars,

I hear the rolling thunder,

Your power throughout,

the universe displayed.

* Then sings my soul

   My saviour God to Thee

   How Great Thou art,

   How Great Thou art.

maybe some of you have heard it. it's really nice. and if i seem kinda stupid and pointless today, i blame my teeth. -.-

Heyhey! Its kari.. no i havent died.. Many thanks to flo for keeping up with the posting.. Alrighty I've decided to do this post on the parable of the sower.
"A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold..." Luke 8:5-8

Okay so the passage above is about four different kinds of seeds, and how does this relate to us? You can relate these seeds to people, as follows..
4 kinds of seeds/people:
A. Wayside - They are witnessed to but Satan comes and takes the word out of them.

B. Stony (no roots) - They hear the word and accept it with gladness, but they develop no roots in their spiritual life, and then things like trials and temptation make them 'wither'. (i.e. - they go to church for awhile but fall away and stop going)

C. Thorny - They accept the word but they are choked with 'thorns' which are the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and they dont share a strong bond with God.

D. (um not sure what to title this) - They accept and understand the word with a honest and good heart, and they develop roots and do not wither away or fall away from trials or temptations.

You can also refer to Luke 8:11-18.

Okay and that's my little summary on the parable of the sower. References to this would be Luke 8:5-15, Matt. 13:3-8 and 18-23. And of course I'm not saying all people have to fit into those 4 categories.. obviously there are those people who have never heard about the word and God. Okay the end of my lesson have a nice day :), and which 'seed' are you?

- oh wait almost forgot a closing verse:

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
